Lifelover's latest album, Konkurs, is one of the most depressing sounding metal albums I've ever heard (that's a compliment by the way) and recalls the best of Burzum smothered in lashings and lashings of delicious melancholy. The result is a sound that will appeal to those (such as myself) that are looking for something different, something raw, something menacing.The fact of the matter is that I really, really fucking hate modern metalcore (Unearth notwithstanding) and this album provides the perfect antidote to all the soulless, trendy, hairstyle obsessed wank that is flooding the metal scene at the moment. Nice.
